Okay, so at the start of the year, I said that this year was going to be one of investments and in my first post of 2019 I discussed what that meant (you can read it here). Within that post, I revealed my plans for releasing a podcast, and recently, I wrote about the gratitude I had towards my followers for helping me achieve goals and also helping decide on the artwork.
Well, now is time for the big reveal on how exactly this is going to go down, because it has been a labour of love, and I am ready to share this with you all.
Burr Necessities will launch on May 7th, 2019 with its premiere episode, “3 Letter Words” where I introduce myself to you all, new and old, and discuss three descriptors that outline the majority of what the podcast will be about – gay, odd & fat.
The podcast release will be every three weeks for the rest of the year, across Apple Podcasts and Spotify so no matter which service you use, you can listen to my wonderfully camp, Yorkshire accent. So far, the second episode will be a Q&A episode, a secondary introduction to answer a bunch of questions posed by my Instagram followers. Then, throughout the year, there are some significant episodes already in the pipeline including a Pride episode in July (because Pride In Hull is 20th July 2019 – see you there), and a Birthday episode and Christmas episode in December because the release dates happen to fall on my 31st birthday and also Christmas Eve.
The rest of the episodes are still being shaped, but expect some guests on the podcast talking about different little bits.
Whilst I say that the podcast will explore fatness, it will also explore body image as a wider topic within the male community, as I have always held fast to making sure people understand it works in every which way you can think of. Queerness will be discussed too, as well as general life tidbits that are relevant to the story progression.
I am trying to make sure that it’s all fun, and light, whilst still being informative and simply an extension of this blog. Also, there will be a total of 12 episodes during 2019 and my blog posting pattern will alter around this – most likely a blog post will be the week before each podcast episode is due out, which means you also get a week free of me!
Words can still not describe how grateful I am to all the people who have supported me, and who have told me they are looking forward to this new era and project. I am putting a lot of effort into this, and have changed up some other projects to make time for this. I hope that it is everything you are expecting and more, and that you do keep supporting me. I will always take you along on the journey with me, because without you, I wouldn’t still be writing this blog, or creating this podcast.
